Birth and Early Life :- Ratan Naval Tata was born on December 28, 1937, in Mumbai (then Bombay), India. He was born into the prestigious Tata family, the founder of which was Jamsetji Tata.
Chairman of Tata Group:- Ratan Tata served as the chairman of Tata Group and Tata Sons from 1991 to 2012. He was also the interim chairman from October 2016 to February 2017.
Under his leadership, Tata Group made significant global acquisitions, including Tetley (UK), Jaguar Land Rover (UK), and Corus Steel (UK), turning the Tata Group into an international conglomerate.
Ratan Tata spearheaded the development of the Tata Nano, an affordable car that aimed to make car ownership accessible to the common Indian.
Tata is well known for his philanthropic work, primarily through Tata Trusts. His contributions supported education, healthcare, and rural development across India and abroad.
He received India's second-highest civilian award, the Padma Vibhushan, in 2008, and the Padma Bhushan in 2000. Internationally, he was recognized with the honorary title of Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the British Empire (GBE) in 2014.
